ClubFR/Drift Association Midwest proudly presents to you the 2008 Midwest Cup Series
The Midwest Cup Series is back for another season this year. With great success last year and with quite a few of our drivers going to Pro-Am Nationals and some of them returning with Formula D licenses. As of now the MWC is not linked with Formula D as of yet. However we are partnering with NOPI to host qualifiers to get your license to drive in NOPI. The official dates of which events will be NOPI qualifiers is undetermined, but keep checking back for the official dates to be announced.
During last years MWC we changed the format of our competition days. On a MWC day we will have a short practice (1-2 hours) in the morning for those wanting to participate. Then we will move straight into qualifications. From that point we will break down the field to the top 8 drivers and move into tandem eliminations. Drivers not meeting the safety requirements for tandem will be forced to forfeit their matchup. Tandem will continue until the number one driver is decided. After the competition the regular drift day will continue.
We will be using the same point system as we did last year which is as follows:
Point system
16 pts - 1st
13 pts - 2nd
10 pts - 3rd
7 pts - 4th
5 pts - 5th-8th
3 pts - 9th-12th
1 pts - 13th-16th
Note: If you make it into the top 8 but do not meet requirements to tandem, you will still be awarded points.
